Thoughts on the Solstice

It’s amazing how dark it is at 6:30 these days as the solstice approaches. Even though December 21st is the shortest day of the year, it’s not my least favorite day. I’m happy to see it because it means the following days will get longer.

It’s the longest day, in June, that makes me sad.

With all the talk of the world ending on December 21st, we don’t realize that a solar flare could come at anytime and wipe earth out. Not to scare anyone, but if you were getting your karma worked out for December, you probably should plan on keeping it straight—just in case you wake up on the 22nd and are still here.

I have a pre-solstice resolution to be more diligent in updating Sun Vision. It’s not just 2012 that we have to get through, the CMEs coming fast and furious these days. Even if we’re not seeing as many sunspots this maximum, there are still lots of coronal holes blasting away.

Background change:
While I liked the colors of the previous background, this new one is more sun-like.

Sparkie update:
Chapter 15 is almost ready. Jimmy has a surprise that rocks Pete’s long held assumptions.

No Wonder!

No wonder we’ve been shifted like crazy for the last four days. Check spaceweather.com for the filaments that have been exploding material at us. When I can concentrate again... I'll be back.

Big Shift

Had some serious shifty moments this morning. Am still feeling spacey.

Rocking and Rolling

There’s been a bunch of sunspots facing Earth. In the last few weeks. Been keeping me shifty and productive… which is good.

Today, there was a mega shift. So if things got really strange, you know why. It takes a few days to come up on Spaceweather.com. But check it out anyway cause the last few days have been really active and they have pictures.

Sun Activity

We’ve been having continuous low grade CME activity… the good news is that I’ve finally found my inspiration and not just anxie. Thinking of switching this over to my writing since I’m having trouble getting in enough updates.

Coronal Holes

When I first noticed the relationship between the shifty feelings and CME activity it always involved a coronal hole. These appear on the sun regardless of the sunspot activity.

Lately, I’m suffering from a low grade continues shiftiness. I envy the folks who get creative jumpstarts and massive inspirations. For me it’s been Bleah…

Just keep in mind that sometimes it’s not you it’s the sun.

Monster Solar Flare

Tuesday morning a spectacular solar flare erupted. The NASA space observatory described it as unleashing a firestorm of radiation on a level not witnessed since 2006. Considered medium sized, the eruption affected nearly half the earth facing solar surface.

So?  Did it make you all shifty and weird? Since I’ve been having strange dreams for the last couple of days, it’s hard to tell.

I did have some strange images when I first went to bed. It’s tricky since I get all out of sync but I’m still working on a way to harness the shifts.
